Only the HSRP provider officially recognized by the manufacturers will supply these plates to their authorized dealers. The process for applying HSRPs to older vehicles will be overseen by the approved dealers of the manufacturers.
To ensure clarity and avoid inflated pricing, vehicle owners must arrange their HSRP installation and submit payments through a specific online platform sanctioned by the manufacturers. This system allows owners to choose a dealer, pick a location, and set an installation date that suits them best. Additionally, the official platform will keep owners updated on their order status via SMS alerts.
For transparency’s sake, manufacturers or their dealers are required to display HSRP installation costs prominently in their showrooms and on the HSRP platform. There may be extra charges for additional services related to installing HSRPs at different sites, contingent upon the owner’s consent.
Once the HSRP is affixed, manufacturers or their dealers are responsible for updating the laser code in the VAHAN portal. Vehicles that do not possess a valid Registration Certificate, a Fitness Certificate (for transport vehicles), or have unpaid tax dues will not qualify for HSRP installation by manufacturers or their authorized dealers.
