SSC CHSL Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring for various roles in the SSC CHSL Exam 2024 must fulfill certain educational criteria by August 1, 2024. For positions like Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’—with some exceptions for specific DEOs in certain Departments or Ministries—applicants should have successfully completed the 12th Standard or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University. Additionally, those looking to secure a role as Data Entry Operators (DEOs)/DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, or the Ministry of Culture need to have finished the 12th Standard in the Science stream, specifically with Mathematics included, from an accredited Board or its equivalent.

Eligible candidates should be aged between 18 and 27 years, which means those born from August 2, 1997, to August 1, 2006, can submit their applications. Furthermore, there are allowances for age relaxation beyond the upper limit in accordance with existing rules and guidelines.

SSC CHSL Exam 2024 Salary Package

The SSC CHSL Exam 2024 offers competitive salary packages for different roles:

  • The Lower Division Clerk (LDC) or Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) starts with a fundamental salary of Rs. 19,900, classified under Pay Matrix Level-2, which amounts to Rs. 37,845 in metropolitan areas. On the other hand, a Data Entry Operator (DEO) receives a base pay of Rs. 29,200 as per Pay Matrix Level-5, culminating in a total remuneration of Rs. 57,960 within city limits. Meanwhile, a Data Entry Operator, Grade A, is offered a basic salary of Rs. 25,500 at Pay Matrix Level-4, bringing their total earnings to Rs. 51,300 in urban centers.
